Monday Okpebholo, governor of Edo State, has nominated five persons for appointment as commissioners in the state executive council.
According to a statement signed by Umar Musa Ikhilor, Secretary to the State Government, the appointees include: Vincent Osas Uwadiae, Etin-osa Ogbeiwi, Saturday Uwuilekhue Idehen, Charity Amayaenvbo, and Roland Itoyah Otaru.
Providing background on the nominees, the statement described Vincent Osas Uwadiae as a distinguished legal practitioner and member of the International Bar Association. Uwadiae earned his LL.B (Hons) from Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, and holds an MBA. He previously served as chairman, Edo State Oil and Gas Producing Areas Development Commission.

Etin-osa Ogbeiwi, another nominee, is recognized as a Nigerian politician and seasoned administrator. A graduate of Edo State University, where he studied Philosophy and Religion, Ogbeiwi also served as a member of the Edo State House of Assembly and has received international training in project monitoring, evaluation, and governance.
Saturday Uwuilekhue Idehen was also named among the commissioner-designates. The Nigerian politician and administrator holds a BA (Hons) in International Studies and Diplomacy from the University of Benin. His previous roles include, commissioner and chairman of Orhionmwon Local Government Area.
Charity Amayaenvbo, who has a wealth of experience spanning both private and public service, holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Public Administration and an MBA from the University of Benin. He is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria.
On his part, Roland Itoyah Otaru, a professor and a senior advocate of Nigeria (SAN), is a renowned legal practitioner and academic. Professor Otaru holds an LL.B from the University of Benin, an LL.M from the University of Ife, and a Ph.D. in Law from Babcock University. He is a fellow of various professional bodies, and an honorary nember of the Body of Benchers.
The statement concluded by noting that the names of the five nominees will be forwarded to the Edo State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation.
