Are you aware that not only are your skills not worthless, your ability to determine their inherent value and applying them with consistency is what will determine how wealthy you will become in life whether you are in business or an employee. As long as you avoid these 5 biggest mistakes like a plague. I hope you have read the first part of this article because I have already shared 2 of the biggest mistakes, now here are the other mistakes that you must avoid.
Biggest mistake No. 3 – You do not let people know about your skills
Be honest with yourself, how many people know about your skills? I am certain you have not told anyone because you think your skills are basic and common. You also assume that people already know, actually, they do not.
Let me tell you something, no one will know what you can do unless you show them. Although some people change their lives with my free online content, however, a larger number of people who save money and invest in my coaching sessions achieve real and sustainable results which change their lives for the better.

Seriously, you need to show people what you can do for them using your skills; otherwise they will never know that you have the answer that they are searching for. When you show them, they begin to believe in you. And when they believe you, they will buy from you if you own a business.
If you are an employee, when you show more of your skills, you will be rewarded with a pay raise and a promotion.
Do not be shy to show people what you can do, it positions you for greatness and enables you to monetise your skills faster.
Biggest mistake No. 4 – You do not sharpen your skills
This mistake is so common it makes me very sad how often you can lose the opportunity to grow and earn more because you refuse to sharpen your skills.
I know many people that have a degree and competence in one area but instead of developing mastery on that thing, they decide to get another degree in a completely different field.
When you know your skills, you need to sharpen them so that you can have mastery in that skill. So that you can be the G.O.A.T (Greatest of all time) in that skill.
For your skills to become uncommon and extraordinary, you need to improve your competence in that skill by consistent practice which will lead you to have mastery in that skill.

Biggest mistake No. 5 – You do not take inventory of your skills
You will never be able to monetise and improve the value of your skills if you do not know that it exists, right? The first step in doing this is taking inventory of your skills. Make a list of all the things you do well and then classify them into the 4 key zones of competence.
Sadly, most people only update their CV every few years when they need to apply for a job or when a company requests for a bio to hire you. But the truth of the matter is that you should be updating your CV every month to take inventory of your skills.
For instance, you may have been in a particular job title for 3 years, however, your organisation may have rebranded and had to pivot which has enabled you to take on new tasks that have equipped you with new skills or sharpened your old skill to update on your CV.
As a business owner, every new client you have enables you to sharpen your skills or learn new skills, this should be updated on your CV too.
