The school follows the Nigerian National Curriculum for secondary schools which consist of three years of junior secondary and three years of senior secondary schooling which qualifies the students to sit for the West African Senior Secondary Certificate of Education (WASSCE) examinations.
This curriculum is widened to accommodate the Cambridge IGCSE and the SAT. The school places a lot of value on personal formation. By personal formation, it refers to the entire education that a student receives at Whitesands School.
The academic programme, extra and co-curricular activities, advisory system and spiritual means of formation, and even the facilities all contribute to the formation of a person with intellect and will. Everything done in Whitesands is done for the sake of the total personal development of the students.
Over 70 percent of the graduates pursue their university studies abroad, mainly the UK, US and Canadian universities including the top universities such as Harvard College, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Imperial College, Oxford University, and University of Toronto, among others.
