2019 polls: APC calls on INEC to cancel Warri Federal Constituency election
Candidate of the All Progressives Congress for the Warri Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Alex Eyengho, on Wednesday called for the outright cancellation of Saturday’s elections that were held in the three Warri local government areas.
Eyengho, who congratulated President Muhammadu Buhari for his reelection for a second term, alleged that the elections held at Warri South West, Warri North and parts of Warri South Council Areas were fraught with lots of irregularities.
Eyengho made this call during a press conference held at the Warri Correspondent Chapel of Nigerian Union of Journalist (NIJ) Warri, Delta State.
Ayengho in company of his campaign team, accused INEC staff and their Ad-hoc staff of deliberately circumventing the Card Readers to frustrate voters across the three Warri local government areas.
He said, “Let me state very manifestly clear that said rogued and crooked election was laced with all manner of living examples of unprecedented electoral malpractices, ballot box stiffing, vote buying, life-threatening electoral violence, record-breaking irregularities, deliberate circumventing of the Car Readers in connivance with INEC staff and ad-hoc staff.
Eyengho also demanded the immediate cancellation of “all toxic votes fraudulently awarded to the PDP candidate by the manifestly compromised INEC.”
He demanded that INEC should declare him winner of the said election based on the physical votes cast across the Warri Federal Constituency.
“All toxic votes, particularly in the riverine communities of Warri South West, Warri North and Warri South LGAs must be quarantined,” Eyengho said.
He pleaded with his teaming supporters and the electorate to remain calm and law-abiding saying that he will retrieve his mandate allegedly stolen from him through peaceful and legal means permitted by the law.
