The SMW Lagos 2017 theme “The [new] Language of Technology: The Future of Communication in Africa,” will explore how mobile technology, networked connectivity, data and other technologies are radically changing industries and communities across Africa. Informed by the theme Perception and Reality: Harnessing the Opportunities in Digital Journalism will discuss the way stories are told in a new digital Nigeria.
Perception and Reality: Harnessing the Opportunities in Digital Journalism is part of the larger Social Media Week conference hosted in 12 cities around the world. Perception and Reality: Harnessing the Opportunities in Digital Journalism will take place on Feb 28, 9 am at the Landmark Event Center
Social Media Week Lagos (SMW Lagos) produced by AFRIKA21 and Dragon Africa returns to Lagos, Nigeria for its 5th edition on the 27th of February – 3rd of March 2017. The first African city to host the annual event, to date over 25,000 people have participated in SMW Lagos.
Perception and Reality: Harnessing the Opportunities in Digital Journalism will be held at the SMW Lagos Campus, innovation stage located at Landmark Center, a state of the art event space in Lagos, Nigeria. Perception and Reality: Harnessing the Opportunities in Digital Journalism will join over 100 other keynotes, panels’ discussions, master classes, digital installations, co-working spaces, and networking events exploring a wide range of topics including business, entertainment, education, technology, and politics.
