The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kwara State Command, at the weekend, said it had deployed 2,380 officers and men across the state to strengthen the protection of critical national assets, safeguard public facilities, and ensure the safety of residents throughout the Yuletide season.
Umar Muhammed, the State Commandant of the agency who gave the directive disclosed that the deployment covers all sixteen (16) local government areas of the state, with personnel drawn from elite and specialized units, including the Armed Squad, Operational Harmony, Counter-Terrorism Unit, Anti-Vandal Unit, and the Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Explosive (CBRNE) Unit.

According to a statement signed by Ayoola Michael Shola, the Public Relations Officer of Command, officers have been strategically positioned based on threat assessments and operational requirements.
Umar further noted that the command will coordinate closely with other security agencies, including local vigilantes, to ensure effective coverage, rapid response, and comprehensive security throughout the festive period.
While extending his warm Christmas and New Year greetings to the people of Kwara State, the Commandant issued a stern warning to vandals and troublemakers, declaring that the NSCDC is fully prepared to confront any attempt to disrupt public peace or tamper with critical assets, and that all offenders will face the full weight of the law.
He also urged members of the public to remain vigilant and security-conscious, encouraging them to report any suspicious activities to the nearest security agency, noting that community cooperation is vital to a safe and peaceful festive season.
