Women in Successful Careers (WISCAR) will graduate another set of mentees just as it would induct a new set as the seventh edition of its annual graduation and induction ceremony as its discussions will once again centre on the importance of the contribution of women to the growth and development of the nation.
The event, which will hold on Saturday, November 21st, 2015 at the Agip Recital Hall, Muson Centre, Onikan Lagos by 10am, with the theme “Women Leading Change” will feature Ifueko Omoigui Okaru, former FIRS executive chairperson, as the keynote speaker and will also see the graduation of WISCAR’s sixth stream of successful mentees, and the induction of the seventh stream.
The panelists at Remi Sonaiya, a professor and the first female presidential candidate; Lynda Saint-Nwafor, chief technical officer, MTN Nigeria, and Yewande Sadiku, executive director, Stanbic IBTC.
Speaking on the upcoming event, Amina Oyagbola, human resources executive of MTN and founder of WISCAR “We chose the theme Women Leading Change for this year’s event to highlight the importance of the contribution of women to the growth and development of the nation and ensure equal opportunity and empowerment of women for real development to occur in our country.
“We look forward to learning from their experiences and insights and the event promises to be an inspiring afternoon of great learning, networking and a celebration of excellence and achievement,” she added.
A key highlight of the event will be the presentation of the distinguished WISCAR award to the deserving WISCAR which has been awarded in the past to Aloma Mukhtar, former chief justice of the Supreme Court of Nigeria; Ayo Obe, human right activist and Oby Ezekwesili, former vice president World Bank and minister of education and solid Mineral.
In attendance will be CEOs of notable companies and corporations, senior corporate executives, ministers, legislators, ambassadors as well as WISCAR advisory board members, mentors/mentees, and other professional men and women.
