For a charity organisation that came into existence barely two months ago, in August 2018, Givers Supportive Foundation hit the ground running and has been making an immediate impact in the society.
Givers Supportive Foundation, which focuses on rallying support and help for the less privilege, the sick and the extremely poor people, is steered by Ologbenla Babatunde Smith.
Speaking on why and how he founded the foundation, Smith, who is designated the CEO of Givers Supportive Foundation, disclosed: “What triggered me is the scale of suffering I see around me, especially with people passing through difficulties and given that myself, I have also passed through some of those difficulties, I know how it feels like to be in such dire state, that helped me to make up my mind to become a humanitarian and become a blessing to many people.”

Smith, educated at Salem University, Lokoja, Kogi State, has no experience in charity. After earning his Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, he obtained a series of professional qualifications including CIA, and CILGPAN and has work experience as an administrative officer in Federal Polytechnic Offa, Kwara State and at Chartered Institute of Administration.
He nonetheless avowed that his childhood experience was a strong motivation for him to go into charity. “I came from a poor background, and I have been working hard toward my dream to become someone who will help the less privilege,” he reiterated.
On his motivation for choosing this type of charity work, he explained: “Having seen a lot of suffering around, I am especially touched by what sick and extremely poor people passed through and therefore made up my mind to do all my best to help these categories of people.”
Given the difficulty in getting people to part with their money, the Ile-Ife, Osun State-born CEO of Givers Supportive Foundation, who incidentally is also the CEO of Babtech Solutions and Enterprise, remains undaunted by the uphill task of raising fund. “We will keep striving to achieve the goal, and with God helping us, we shall scale the hurdles,” he affirmed.
