The Taraba State Deputy Governor, Haruna Manu on Monday said the State government would go after the people that looted government facilities and private property of citizens.
Manu disclosed this when he inspected the destruction at the Hope Afresh Foundation a non-governmental organisation of the wife of the Governor, Anna Darius Ishaku at Kona road in Jalingo.
The Deputy Governor who expressed disappointment over damages caused by the looters said the government will go after them to prevent a reoccurrence.
“This is really unfortunate. This is not government property. This is an initiative of the wife of the governor meant for the people of the state.

“The foundation is a training centre that has done much for the people of the state. I am at a lost as to why the looters did what they did.
“As a government, we are certainly going to go after the looters and bring them to book to serve as a deterrent to others.
“We have directed security agencies to go after the looters to serve as a deterrent to others,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Taraba State Police command has said they have arrested 23 suspected hoodlums in connection to the looting that took place in the state.
The Police Public Relations Officer, David missal announced this while briefing journalist in Jalingo.
Missal said the arrest follow the command’s move to put to an end the current vandalization and looting of government and private properties by hoodlums who disguised as ENDSARS protesters in Jalingo.
The PPRO said the command clampdown on 23 suspects recovered six tricycles three vehicles loaded with 8 bags of Rice, 39 bags of fertilizer, 9 cartons of indomie, 9 bottles of the agrochemical, 3 camp beds, and 4 cartons of macaroni.
According to him, efforts were on to fish-out more perpetrators of the act as the command and other sister agencies have organised a joint patrol that is already out to put to an end the criminal act and recover the looted items.
BusinessDay gathered that the looters completely vandalised the Hope Afreh Foundation carting away property worth hundreds of millions of Naira.
This is even as the looters extend their operation on Monday to Wukari and Takum local government areas.
