Peter Olumuyiwa, a lecturer at the University of Medical Sciences (UNIMED), Ondo State, has been recognised among the top 2% of scientists worldwide for two consecutive years, 2024 and 2025.
Speaking on this feat, Ebunoluwa Adejuyigbe, Vice-Chancellor, congratulated him and praised his achievement for placing the University on the global map.

Adejuyigbe, in a statement made available to journalists on Sunday in Akure through Isaac Oluyi, the institution’s Public Relations Officer, said, “I congratulate Dr Peter Olumuyiwa on this remarkable feat. This is a testament to the hard work and excellence for which UNIMED and its staff are known worldwide. We are proud of this accomplishment.”
BusinessDay reports that Olumuyiwa is a lecturer in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science. His research focused on Biomathematics, Infectious Disease Modelling, Artificial Intelligence, and Image Processing.
