SME banking will take the centre stage as BusinessDay Training Unit, an arm of BusinessDay Media Group, holds a two-day training programme for financial institutions in the country.

The purpose of the training is for players in the financial services industry to build intelligence with respect to SME and grow their SME portfolio.

According to the organisers, the training is schedule to hold on July 28 – 29, 2016, in Lagos between 8:30am and 4:30pm.

“The year 2016 is a peculiar year for SMEs. Banks need to understand the dynamics of different elements of small businesses and identify the accompanying risks inherent in their businesses coupled with how to manage them,” John Isikwene, business development specialist, BusinessDay Media, said.

“The course is designed to create awareness on how to build trust. It will expose the behavioural dynamics of selling to SMEs and also enumerate listening, questioning and analytical skills of SME bankers,” he said.

Isikwene said the training would also help to improve the existing relationship between SME bankers and SMEs business owners.
