Nigeria Premier League team, Sharks FC of Port Harcourt has unveiled their new Eunisell branded jerseys which will be used when the season currently on a two-week break resumes in August.
Speaking at a grand event held in Lagos on Tuesday, Chika Ikenga, Group Managing Director of Eunisell, the official shirt sponsor of the club, said his company went into the sponsorship deal to support local football and encourage the team to play better football.
“Sports have a key role to play in solving many of the current issues in Nigeria. If more individuals and corporate organisations will rise to support our local football, the opportunities to develop talents, create jobs and unite us further as a nation are limitless,” Ikenga said.
He further advised Nigerian teams to develop a more strategic marketing plan for corporate organisations in order to ensure they get the much desired sponsorships.

Also commenting Mallam Shehu Dikko, Chairman of the League Management Company (LMC) and Vice President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) expressed satisfaction with the way the deal was reached while also calling on other firms to come forward to exploit other sponsorship windows in the league. “We are very excited having our clubs breaking new grounds on how to raising funds from the corporate world. This is a good development for sports in Nigeria and we are happy with it, “ LMC Chairman added.
On his path, Chief Okey Kpalukwu, General Manager Sharks FC, thanked the company for the sponsorship and assured of his team’s better performance following the deal. ”The players have a very high morale right now and you will begin to see positive changes in the way we play, ” he noted.
While fielding questions from the media, both parties did not comment on the value of the sponsorship but it was revealed that a one-year renewable contract was signed.
