As part of SAP’s Month of Service timeline, SAP Nigeria employees volunteered to join in the cleanup and renovation of 12 units of dilapidated toilet facility in Victoria Island Primary School Complex.
During the activity SAP employees teamed up with AYECI Africa to join renovation contractors in installing toilet fittings, painting and cleaning up of the school surroundings. Kudzai Danha, Managing Director, SAP West Africa said the aim of the excercise is to improve the lives of the community.
The move is certainly deliberate! SAP West Africa’s employee act of service is simply because we wanted to promote the message of corporate social responsibility and employee volunteerism to help improve the lives of the underserved in our local communities.

The dilapidated toilet facility was worsened by lack of water and a heap of refuse, which accumulated over the years, thereby constituting a health risk to children who are the most vulnerable.
The renovated toilet facility will contribute to improving the sanitary and hygiene standards of over 1553 pupils and translate to a positive and hygiene change for the school.
To ensure sustainability of the project, SAP partner AYECI Africa would continue to monitor and inspect the refurbished toilets to ensure proper usage and maintenance.
The commissioning and official hand over of the newly renovated 12 units of toilet facility would be held on Thursday, November 5, 2015.
