Reps approve N365bn for NDDC

The House of Representatives on Wednesday approved total sum of N365 billion for the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) to finance its activities.

According to the report seen by BusinessDay, the 2017 budget is to operate till 31st May, 2018.

Breakdown of the budget shows that the sum of N17.797 billion is for personnel costs; N12.459 billion is for overhead costs; N4.402 billion is for internal capital expenditure while N329.850 is for development projects for the Service of the Commission.

The Niger Delta Development Commission enjoys First Line Charge in the Consolidated Revenue Fund of Nigeria.

Under the project development expenditure, the oil producing States are to share total sum of N329.850 billion.

Breakdown of the Allocation shows that: the sum of N126,838,085,198 is for Head Office/Regional; N11,362,460,839 is for Abia state; N45,232,555,212 is for Akwa Ibom state while N29,249,989,113 is for Bayelsa state.

Others include: N9,754,812,974 for Cross River state; N36,330,767,016 for Delta State; N12,818,375,449 for Edo state; N10,664,665,699 for Imo state; N15,645,002,382 for Ondo State while N31,953,386,118 is for Rivers state respectively.
