Tunde Adeniran, deputy director general, Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Organisation, has lamented that the party is not making public the achievements of President Goodluck Jonathan. He, therefore, warned that if the PDP does not retrace its step and showcase Jonathan’s achievements others will use it against him.

This comes as the national leadership of the PDP asked its members to disregard rumours making the rounds that its national chairman, Adamu Mu’azu, has resigned. Adeniran, a former minister of education, stated this in Abuja on Thursday at a national training session for PDP delegates tagged, ‘Operation deliver your ward’. The programme is expected to train 600,000 polling unit canvassers ahead of the general election. Adeniran who chided the PDP for not allowing the people to know what Jonathan has done, said “the president achievement is undersold and in some cases not sold at all, in some places they ask, so Jonathan has done so?”.

On his part, Jerry Gana, director of contact and mobilisation committee of Jonathan Presidential Campaign Organisation, said the final phase of the PDP campaign is designed to focus intensively on grassroots mobilisation and education of voters at the ward and polling units levels. He explained that at the end of the exercise, participants are expected to convene a training session in each state on Monday, March 16 for ward level mobilisers. “The trained mobilisers will then go back to their wards and train polling unit canvassers on Tuesday March 17”, he explained.
