Nigerian Fintech week begins on 28th October

The official Opening ceremony starts at 9.30 am at the Landmark Events Centre on Tuesday, October 29, 2019.

The Nigeria Fintech Week brings together various organizations and individuals in the disruptive technology ecosystem both within and outside Nigeria. This event has attracted significant interest from prominent organizations and stakeholders especially from outside of Nigeria with close to 4000 (four thousand) participant registrations for all the events.

The theme of the Nigeria Fintech Week is: “SURVIVING WITH FINTECH INNOVATION, WHAT ARE THE SUSTAINING FACTORS

Aishah Ahmad, Deputy Governor, Central Bank of Nigeria CBN for Financial Systems Stability will be the keynote speaker at the opening ceremony alongside Mary Uduk, the Director-General of the Securities and Exchange Commission SEC and other dignitaries. One of the highlights of the opening ceremony is the launching by the Securities and Exchange Commission of the “Fintech Roadmap for the Nigeria Capital Market”.

Other major activities of the Nigeria Fintech Week include:

  • An executive Fintech Regulation Masterclass sponsored by AfDB on 28th October 2019.
  • The two-day 4th National Fintech Conference 29th and 30th October 2019 at Landmark Event Centre featuring keynote speakers, panel discussions, product pitches, hackathons, exhibitions etc.
  • A subsidised one-day fintech fundamentals training titled the Fintech First Dive. This training will take participants through a rich curriculum on all there is to know about Fintech and how to fit in the future of work and disruptions. It will do this with a very practical approach and it will also apply a global view. Participants do not need to have any prior knowledge of Fintech. This training would be held on the 31st of October 2019 at Bankers House Victoria Island.
  • Nigeria Fintech Week Students and Young Innovators Assembly/Conference holding at University of Ibadan on 2nd November 2019 with over 2000 students from various tertiary institutions participating. This event is supported by SystemSpecsRemita
