Minister of state for labour and employment, James Ocholi, has reiterated President Muhammadu Buhari’s commitment to significantly improve job creation and skills acquisition across the country.

Responding to a technical brief given by Olu Olasode, group managing director, TL First Integrated Management Group, during a courtesy visit at the ministry headquarters in Abuja recently, Ocholi stressed the need to introduce models of vertical integration and inter-government coordination on youth employment initiatives at national, state and local council levels.

He also reaffirmed the need for an integrated horizontal tracking of inputs and outcomes of job creation and skills acquisition activities across government, businesses and civil societies.

Throwing light on some of the ministry’s current programmes during the visit, the minister re-emphasised the clear leadership being provided by Chris Ngige, minister of labour and employment, and the drive by the permanent secretary, Clement Illoh, to ensure that the ministry’s mandates and plans were engraved in the hearts and minds of every staff of the ministry.

Olasode thanked the minister for hosting him and expressed willingness to partner the ministry as an agent of change, to promote the Buhari-led change agenda.
