Lagos state empowers farmers in order to ensure food security

The Lagos State Government in Collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (FMARD)under the National Programme for food security (NPFS) in a bid to ensure food security in the country, organized a farmer field day on the earlier this month.
During the event, farm inputs and implements were distributed to farmers across the state. The state also gave out cheques of 9.8 mn naira to farmer groups in the state as a revolving loan. Inputs such as agrochemicals, knapsack sprayers, overhead tanks, fish tanks production and processing tool were handed out by the special adviser to the Governor on Food Security; Hon Ganiyu Okanlawon Sanni in the presence of the National Coordinator of the program, Mr Kevin Tekpat
