Against the Back drop of the protest by Ijaw Youth Council on Monday, which disrupted the business activities of Total E&P Nigeria Ltd (TEPNG) Port Harcourt office, on a purportedly peaceful demonstration in support of one Mr. Steve Aralu a former staff of Maple Leaf Ventures.
According to a statement signed by Charles Ogan, Deputy General Manager – Policy, Media & Coordination of TEPNG, Maple Leaf Ventures is a contractor to Total E&P Nigeria Ltd (TEPNG).
Ogan noted that the matter between Mr. Steve Aralu and Total E&P Nigeria Ltd is pending in a court of law and is therefore SUB-JUDICE.
For the record, since several years, TEPNG had tried to resolve the matter amicably and parties have been engaged in discussions at the direction of the court.
Total E&P Nigeria Ltd is not in dispute with either the National or Zonal Branch of the IYC, which is a notable youth organization in Nigeria.
This act of blockade has been brought to the attention of relevant authorities.
