The Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Committee (ICRC)  and the Federal Ministry of Interior, have made a commitment to jointly work towards the strengthening of Public Private Partnerships (PPP), as a means to servicing Nigeria’s infrastructure deficit.

This announcement was made known at the presentation of an OutlineBusiness Case (OBC) Compliance Certificate for the production of Biometric Identity Card to be made available to Nigerians traveling within the West African sub region, on Wednesday in Abuja.

While presenting the certificate to the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, The Director General ICRC Chidi Izuwah expressed hope that the project, when completed, will serve as a tool of bettering the ease of movement and identification within the region.

Izuwah went further by tracing the National issue of unemployment to the failing infrastructure available in the country ‘’The problem of  unemployment in Nigeria today is an infrastructure issue. If you develop infrastructure in critical sectors, more jobs will be
created,’’ he said.

Delighted by the project, Izuwah also expressed readiness on the part of the ICRC to collaborate with the Ministry in the future, with regards to PPP programmes that would be beneficial to the Nigerian populace.
