Kano State government in conjunction with leadership of the state chapter of the APC would soon organise a retreat for the officials of the party, in Kaduna, with a view to reorganising it towards meeting the yearnings and aspirations of its teeming members.
The retreat also aims to strengthen intra party relationship and galvanize members to face the emerging challenges of democracy in the country.
The state governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje announced this while hosting a delegation of APC members from old Dawakin Tofa local government area, comprising the present day Dawakin Tofa, Tofa, Shanono, Bagwai and Rimin Gado local government areas.
“The retreat, which would hold soon be organised, would help us in our desire to see that the party stands on its feet. We shall also use that platform to see how we can address the problems associated with some of our card carrying members as well as strategize on how we can embrace more people into our fold”, the governor stated.
Stressing the need to conduct regular meetings of the party, the governor maintained that for the APC to remain the wining party in the country there must be regular interaction between its leaders and supporters, to tackle problems and identify areas of keeping its flag flying high.
Governor Ganduje urged supporters of the APC particularly those from the old Dawakin Tofa area to maintain their support for his administration especially in view of the fact that he is the first person from the area and specifically from Kano North, to become elected governor of the state.
He further assured that as a governor of the state, he would continue with all abandoned projects as well as to introduce new ones, expressing delight that citizens of Kano are vividly witnessing life-changing projects across the state.
In his remarks, the chairman of Bagwai local government council, Ado Isyaku Daddauda said they are 100 percent in his support and thanked the governor for appointing indigenes of the five local government areas into strategic positions in his administration.
Earlier, the representative of lawmakers from the areas, Muhammad Bello Butubutu and an APC elder, Sani Tofa said they were at Government House to show their solidarity to the governor, who happens to come from their area, assuring him of support at all times.
