Abuja – Currently on trial for misappropriation of funds, Sambo Dasuki, National Security Adviser (NSA) to ex-Prersident Goodluck Jonathan was absent from an Abuja court on Thursday stalling the hearing.
Rotimi Jacobs, prosecuting counsel expressed disappointment at the resumed sitting, citing a communication gap between the EFCC and Department of State Service (DSS) as the cause. An application for a stand down of the case pending the presentation of Dasuki was opposed by Olajide Ayodele, counsel to Yuguda who regarded the application if granted unuseful.
Joseph Daudu, consel to Dasuki similarly placed blame on the EFCC for negligence of its responsibility to produce Dasuki as required by law. Also standing trial in the same case is Attahiru Bafarawa (former Sokoto governor). Eventaully there was consensus among the lawyers to plead for an adjournment.
Peter Affen (Justice) adjourned the matter for commencement on Ocober 21.
