Gubernatorial candidate of the Social Democratic Party in Benue State, Sam Gar, has stated that the resuscitation of the party in the state is to provide good governance, wipe away the massive corruption, collapsed economy and the near-dearth of education and health institutions in the state.
Gar, who disclosed this while speaking to journalists in Makurdi, said SDP is the only party of hope for the people giving that the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and All Progressives Congress (APC) have failed the people. According to him, his coming on board is to rescue the state from its current rudderless situation, saying Benue needed a priest like himself to replicate the feat achieved by the late Moses Adasu in just one year in office.
He noted that the society has continued to degenerate because politicians are allowed to preside over affairs rather than professionals, insisting that as soon as they are elected, they consider such positions as an opportunity to loot the treasury and engage in primitive accumulation of wealth.
Gar promised to block all the leakages that have contributed in retarding the growth of Benue State, saying SDP as a welfarist party will concentrate in tapping the abundant natural resources in the state for the good of all.
