…signs $1m investment pact with cement manufacturer
The Bauchi State Government has secured over $5 billion commitment and investment pledges from both local and foreign investors and entrepreneurs at the just concluded Bauchi State Economic and Investment Summit held in Bauchi.
BusinessDay reports that over 47 investment proposals were presented during the Summit, cutting across sectors such as agriculture, solid minerals, tourism, infrastructure, and manufacturing, among others.
Also, a $1 million investment deal was signed between the Bauchi State Government and a cement production company, which is expected to be operational before December 2025.

The key outcomes of the Summit included the exposure of existing and potential investors to opportunities in agriculture, solid minerals, tourism and infrastructure, generating relationships and partnerships across various sectors.
Other steps include the actualisation of the investment deals signed during the Summit, vigorous development and promotion of sectors such as tourism, agriculture, solid minerals, health, education, and the establishment of an agency to serve as a one-stop shop for investors.
Showcasing the economic potentials of the State, Governor Bala Mohammed launched the BNG Project, a Micro, Small and Medium-scale Enterprises Development Initiative aimed at fast-tracking inclusive investment and creating jobs for the people of the State.
He assured both local and international investors of safety and support.

At the closure of events, Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State thanked his colleague Governor Bala Mohammed for organising a very big economy-based programmelike expected to bring massive development in the State.
The governor, who was represented by Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo, the Deputy Governor, called on leaders at various levels to emulate Governor Bala Mohammed from the perspective of investment opportunities, showcasing and bringing to the State.
