The Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN) also known as Shiite has revealed that the police shot and killed over a dozen of their members, who were observing their annual Ashura Procession across some states of the Federation on Tuesday.
Spokesman of the IMN, Ibrahim Musa, told BusinessDay on Tuesday that three of their members were killed in Kaduna, and the others were killed in Gombe, Bauchi, Azare, and others.
He said further that the group did not violate any order but suddenly came under fire from the police.
The group also staged the Ashura Procession in the nation’s capital, Abuja on Tuesday but there was no reported violent incident.
