Members of the House of Representatives are currently in closed door meeting.
While the meeting is ongoing Vice President Yemi Osinbajo in company of Udo Udoma, Minister of Budget and National Planning arrived at the venue of the budget presentation.
Speaker Yakubu Dogara announced this on resumption of plenary, after Femi Gbajabiamila, Majority Leader raised a point of Order to suspend all other legislative activities, to enable President Muhammadu Buhari, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and his cabinet as well as Senators to attend the session.
Dogara also invited three principal officers namely: Yussuff Lasun, Deputy Speaker; Femi Gbajabiamila, Majority Leader and Idris Wade, Deputy Majority Leader for a chat.
Dogara who directed all the journalists and Nigerian Army’s band as well as all security operatives within the chamber to vacate the chambers to enable the lawmakers hold the executive session, while awaiting the arrival of Mr. President.
Also present at the National Assembly are: Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Senior Special Adviser to the President on Diaspora Affairs; Boss Mustapha, Secretary to the Government of the Federation; Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State who arrived the chamber at 11:34am; Babatunde Fashola, Chris Ngige, Ibe Kachikwu, Dan Ali, Minister of defence, Zainab Ahmed, minister of Finance; Okechukwu Enelamah, Minister of Trade and Investment; Lai Mohammed, Minister of Information and Culture as well as Suleiman Kawu, Senior Special Adviser to the President on National Assembly Matters (House of Representatives) and Ita Enang, Senior Special Adviser to the President on National Assembly Matters (Senate).
