Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman scored his first Champions League goal of the season as Atalanta swept aside Eintracht Frankfurt 3–0 at the Deutsche Bank Park.
Atalanta struck three times in just five second-half minutes, in the 60th, 62nd and 65th minutes, to secure their first win under new coach Raffaele Palladino, who was making his Champions League debut after replacing Ivan Juric.
Lookman opened the scoring with a volley from a Charles De Ketelaere cross before turning provider moments later as he set up Ederson for the second. De Ketelaere added the third shortly after Scamacca had rattled the crossbar.
The first half was evenly balanced, with Atalanta hitting the woodwork twice in 30 seconds through Lookman and Scamacca, but the visitors completely took control after the break.
Atalanta climbed to 10th in the standings, while Frankfurt slipped to 28th.
“It’s important to get the victory. A 3–0 win away from home is a really good result,” Lookman told Sky Sport Italia.
Palladino praised his players for delivering a “magical night” on his Champions League debut.
“It couldn’t have gone better,” he said. “I want to thank the club for having faith in me, my staff, and above all, the players. They deserved this satisfaction.”
