The United States President, Donald Trump is saying his country will run Venezuela for now until a proper transition is ready.
“We are going run the country says Trump of Venezuela. We are going to run it until a proper transition can take place,” Trump said in a news conference.
The US president added that his country’s intervention in Venezuela will open up new doors for US oil companies, which will soon take part in massive energy projects in the country.
He promised to overhaul Venezuela’s oil infrastructure, adding that US is ready for a second wave, a much bigger wave if necessary.
“As everyone knows, the oil business in Venezuela has been a bust, a total bust for a long period of time,” said Trump. “They were pumping almost nothing by comparison to what they could.”
“We’re going to have our very large United States oil companies – the biggest anywhere in the world – go in, spend billions of dollars, fix the badly broken infrastructure, the oi infrastructure, and start making money for the country,” he added.
