Inter Milan are reportedly preparing a fresh bid for Atalanta winger Ademola Lookman, following the rejection of their initial €45 million offer and amid ongoing tensions between the player and his club.
The Nigerian international has made his stance clear; he wants a move to the San Siro and has since refused to return to training with Gian Piero Gasperini’s squad. The 27-year-old has also submitted a formal transfer request, intensifying speculation over his Atalanta future.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Inter are now considering raising their bid to around €50 million, with the possibility of including a young talent to offset the cost. However, they are still waiting for clarity from Atalanta regarding the club’s official valuation, particularly as the Bergamo side is reluctant to sell to a domestic rival.
Lookman insists he had a gentleman’s agreement with Atalanta to leave this summer should a suitable offer come in. Atalanta CEO Luca Percassi confirmed that such a deal existed, but only for a transfer to a top club outside Serie A.
Despite the current standoff, the dialogue between the two clubs remains professional, with no immediate signs of a complete breakdown in negotiations. However, the pressure is mounting on Atalanta to either stand firm or strike a deal before the transfer window closes.
Inter remain keen to land Lookman, who was one of Atalanta’s standout performers last season and is viewed as a crucial addition to Cristian Chivu’s squad ahead of the new campaign.
With Lookman refusing to back down and Inter pushing behind the scenes, all signs point to a crucial few days in what could be one of Serie A’s biggest moves of the summer.
