Life is gradually returning to normal on the roads after intitial weeks of post EndSARS protest gridlock experienced on Lagos roads following the boycott of duty by traffic marshals on the roads.
BusinessDay reporter who journey’s through the Lagos-Badagry road everyday can report that, as at Monday this week, sanity is gradually returning on many of the city road networks with the presence of a combined team of the Federal Roads Safety Corps, the Nigeria Police, Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) including the Man O’ War team, and many road users describe this as a good development.

Following the violence that trailed the #EndSARS protests last month, LASTMA officials, as well as police officers, have been visibly absent on Lagos roads, and the resultant traffic gridlock on major road junctions across the city has made life difficult for commuters.
With the officers and men of the police being one of the major casualties of the attacks in Lagos state, many have become disillusioned and demotivated and therefore stayed-off the road,
Recall that the Lagos police command suffered huge losses when the hitherto peaceful #EndSARS protest was hijacked by hoodlums in the state and subsequently unleashed mayhem on the police and other security outfits in the state.
According to figures, the police which was the most hit in the tension and violence with six officers sent to their early graves, while many officers were injured. A total of 16 police stations were burnt in Lagos, 13 others were vandalized and police properties looted by the hoodlums.
