In the correspondence, Tinubu said the fiscal documents, recently endorsed by the Federal Executive Council (FEC) at its December 3, 2025, meeting, were being submitted “for the kind consideration and approval of the distinguished senators.”
He noted that the 2026 national budget would be drafted in line with the assumptions and fiscal parameters outlined in the approved MTEF and FSP.
The president also urged lawmakers to give the request “expeditious legislative action.”
After reading the letter, Jibrin referred the documents to the Senate Committee on Finance, directing the committee to submit its report by December 17.
