Unless drastic measures are employed by the Lagos State government, road users along the Ijora Causeway inward the ever Apapa busy seaport will continue to suffer undue hardhip as  the horrendous and chaotic regular gridlock that has become a recurring decimal on daily basis.

A cross section of motorists last Monday told Business Day that the absence of traffic officials had also contributed in causing nightmare to many road users.

While many experts have warned of the health implications, other analysts have also expressed dismay over the lingering traffic snarl due to the heavy concentration of heavy-duty trucks and tankers on the Ijora flyover inward Apapa seaport. They warn that the ugly trend poses great danger as a result of the vibration on the bridge constructed many years ago.

They wonder why traffic officials are absent along the corridor on many occasions, despite the growing  terrible bumper-to-bumper traffic jam on top of the bridge made worse by the dangerous driving habit of drivers of articulated vehicles, who have continued to constitute a menace to other road users.
