Trixie Lohmirmand, Executive Vice President, Dubai World Trade Centre, has said that Nigeria is ranked as one of the fastest-rising and growing fintechs in the world, adding that Nigerians scale with resilience, not just capital.

She said, while giving her opening remarks at GITEX Nigeria 2025, that “with GITEX, we are turning the attention of the world to Nigeria as some are here for the first time.”

“Nigeria is global, they beat countries like Mumbai, Turkey and many more countries with fintech and startups,” she stated.

Nigerian startups create solutions to problems that stem from necessity and survival, which is why they scale faster, Lohmirmand said while noting that Nigeria create the best unicorn out of Africa.

“The resistance DNA and the way they thrive during tough challenges. Nigerians scale with resilience and not capital.” She stated that if you can thrive and survive in your business in Lagos, you can thrive anywhere.

“In other countries, they build solutions with already established infrastructure, but Nigerian fintechs create infrastructure and whole systems,” Lohmirmand said.

Some of the biggest tech companies are at GITEX Nigeria 2025. There are delegates from 40 companies, and investors who are coming to Nigeria for the first time.
