MFI Group and Japanese office products manufacturers, Kyocera Document Solutions recently organised an event in Lagos to educate and enhance customer experience with Managed Document Services (MDS).
Speaking to some members of the press at the event, the Managing Director,West and North Africa, MFI Office Solutions Africa Ltd, Altaf Lalani, said that the main objective of hosting the event was to showcase how business entities, especially in Africa can experience uninterrupted workflow in their daily running by using MDS which is a process designed to optimize the document output of an organization.
“It is a holistic approach that enables businesses to find areas where they can reduce costs. Thus far, MFI has measured that MDS can enable an organization to cut up to 30 percent of their output costs,” he said.
When asked how the solution will help cut up to 30 percent output cost, Lalani explained that the printing solution is eco friendly which means that it is paper saving in the sense that it allows the user to send documents to any printer but a unique password needs to be imputed for the document to print out, thereby creating security of document.
He further explained that this solution cuts costs by reducing the number of machines needed, resulting in big savings on power consumption and creates better efficiency with lower number of machines.

Explaining more about the printing solution, Nagao said that “the toner cartridges do not have to be replaced the customer only has to replace the toner itself and not the plastic cartridge which can last forever, in this sense, Co2 emission is reduced. Also each toner can print up to ten thousand pages before having t be replaced.”
