With the increasing demand for data, especially at a time when digital revolution is taking place in developed nations, Airtel has officially launched its three unique home broadband services to meet individual specific data needs of its customers.

The Airtel unlimited 10, unlimited 15 and unlimited 20 packages which offer never ending  data services for 30 days at reasonable costs of N10,000, N15,000 and N20,000 respectively will avail customers the opportunity to now share data freely with family, friends and colleagues.

According to the telecommunications service provider, its new home broadband delivers fast broadband service via data terminals such as dongle, MiFi and routers.

Speaking to media representatives at the official launch of the Airtel unlimited home broadband service, Bobby Dozie, Product Manager, Airtel unlimited, said that; “the unlimited 10 offers 40 Gigabytes (40GB) data and runs at a burstable speed till it is exhausted, after which speed will be significantly reduced to 256 kilobytes per second (kbs) for the rest of the 30 days validity according to its fair usage policy.

The unlimited 15, offers burstable speed up to 65GB, which reduces speed to 256kbs after exhaustion while the unlimited 20 offers burstable speed up to 100GB which will be reduced to 256kbs after exhaustion.”

According to Dozie; “the point is that the data never ends throughout its 30 day validity, although the speed can be reduced if the data amount is totally exhausted.”

Enitan Denloye, Vice President, Brands and Advertising, Airtel Nigeria, said that although the unlimited plans cannot be rolled over, it is almost impossible for users to exhaust a 100GB of data in 30 days and that is why it is unlimited.

“If you are a heavy data user, you should go for the unlimited 20 and it will be very difficult to exhaust 100GB of data within a 30 day period. Because of our transparency at Airtel, we want to make it known that data speed will be reduced if by any chance, the data amount is exhausted within the period,” Denloye said.

In a press release made available to BusinessDay, Ahmad Mohkles,Chief Commercial Officer, Airtel Nigeria, said that the telco is changing the paradigm, breaking new frontiers and inspiring new behaviour in relation to data sharing and delivering seamless data to improve customer lifestyle and enable them take charge.

“Airtel is committed to pioneering innovation, superior data experience and affordability. Our new Unlimited is truly unlimited as we have stretched the threshold to deliver up to 100GB to telecoms consumers so that they can empower more people within their circle of influence,” he said.

Mohkles added that, “With this new offering, we have initiated and inspired a paradigm shift that will promote community, deepen friendship bond and eventually lead to a more productive and prosperous society.
