The stakeholders of the old Lere district, Tafawa-Balewa local Government Area of Bauchi State, have pledged support to the newly appointed Gung Zaar of Zaar Chiefdom and the emirs of Bununu and Lere.
The delegation of the stakeholders was led by the former chairman of the Nigerian Law Reforms and Chairman Bauchi State Fertilizer Company, Kefas Musa Magaji.
Magaji said that the newly appointed chief and emirs will definitely bring peace and unity in the areas.
Magaji reaffirmed their commitment to work closely with the monarchs to drive development and progress in Bauchi State.
He further said that in the whole North-East, there’s no state that is living peacefully like Bauchi State.
Also speaking, the Bauchi State Commissioner for Works and Transport, Professor Titus Saul Ketkukah thanked Governor Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir for the good efforts of appointing the traditional leaders to enable the state continue living peacefully.
The commissioner emphasisd the importance of collaboration between government and the traditional leaders in achieving meaningful development for the people.
In their responses, the Gung Zaar of Zaar Chiefdom, retired brigadier-general Marcus Koko Yake; the Emir of Bununu, Jibrin Danlami Hassan, and the Emir of Lere, Nuru Adamu Jumba expressed their appreciation to the stakeholders for their visitation and support.
The monarchs called on the people of Tafawa-Balewa to continue praying that God should give them wisdom, strength, knowledge, protection and more years ahead to lead people with the fear of God.
While promising an open-door policy, they also urged the stakeholders to always help with pieces of advice that could bring development to the state.
