The Chairman of APC in Enugu state Ben Nwonye has denied a purported report in a social media that the immediate past governor of Enugu state Sullivan Chime has joined APC.
Speaking to journalists in his office Nwonye said that the report was a rumour that has no basis.
According to him Chime has not registered in his ward as a member of APC or in the state and has no card of the party in the recent party registration in south east.
He said that as the Enugu state Chairman of APC, he is in the best position to know the APC party members and hand such a person over to the zone before meeting with the national leaders.
A social media this week reported that the past governor has defected to APC following the lingering leadership challenges in PDP.
