There is a popular saying that a change is as good as a holiday and in both the local and global motoring industry, the only constant thing is change. This biggest change in recent months has the return of Peugeot in Nigeria following federal government’s new attitude courtesy of the automotive policy that seeks to encourage local automotive assembly.

In the interim, PAN Nigeria said it has commenced local assembly of the Peugeot 301 at its Kaduna factory. This week we are taking our readers to the Peugeot 2008 compact urban crossover which though may not be in Nigeria, but outside the country, is a good buy just like any other Peugeot car in any part of the world.

Based on the impressive 208 hatchback, the 2008 offers more ground clearance, interior space and practicality. Powered by a frugal 88kW, 1.6-liter four cyclinder petrol engine, the new 2008 is very well specced at the price it is being offered given that is is equipped with satellite navigation, electric windows, poweer steering, touchscreen display and Bluetooth connectivity.

It also includes an array of security features such as front, side and cuertian airbags, ESP and ABS brakes with emergency brake assist that is typical of Peugeot. Behind the wheel, it offers a compliant ride and steadfast agility.

All in all, the 2008 Peugeot proves that compact cars can be versatile, spacious and comfortable whilw offering strong value proposition.
