Starting from point of strength and discovering your dreams
The challenge many people and individuals have had in achieving their dream is failing to start from their point of strength. Incidentally, this should have been their craft and also means of livelihood. That is why a lot of people in the work place are not doing what they are good at. So, companies end up not having the right people and the people themselves not doing what their craft is.
For people to realize their dreams, the need to be re-orientated and their mind worked on to go back to their craft.
“This is about helping people rediscover their potentials by making them go back to what they are good at, says Nwamaka Onyiuke, CEO/founder of Protege Professionals.
“We are a people and organization development firm, with a creative approach to building a highly effective workforce. We understand that employees are first, individuals and if placed in the right roles and equipped with the right skills, productivity will be boosted by margins”
Onyiuke in driving this vision hosted the Convicted Professionals forum in Lagos with the CEO of Hyde Energy Oladimeji Edwards, and the CEO of Filmhouse Cinemas, Kene Mkparu who were mandated to defend their success stories before judge and jury. Titi Fowora of Inu Designs, Haowa Bello of Madame Coquette and Mage Ayida of Eden Lifestyle were panelists who testified in an unusual simulated courtroom themed event. The event was held at Four Points by Sheraton Hotel in Victoria Island.
The theme of the conference ‘what is in your hands’ was aimed at encouraging potential and existing entrepreneurs to start with what they already have. Guest speakers were invited to give a witness defense of their success before an intimate audience of over 200 guests. Professionals, executives and entrepreneurs were kept engaged as they listened to top CEO keynote speakers and the panelists giving evidence to support their personal stories. Each speaker gave a compelling account of their individual journeys to success in their respective fields, with all witnesses agreeing that having ‘passion’ was a key element to success in their endeavours.
The event was also the launch of ‘My Passion My Project’ a platform that challenges participants to embark on an 8 week adventure through a life course in the ‘#30dayspassionproject’. The aim of the My Passion My Project is to help people discover what they are good at, help them craft their life plan, discover the kind of work or business that would fulfill them and bring to life their dreams.
Nwamaka Onyiuke, a seasoned coach, trainer and author said at the event “today we wanted to encourage people to take a closer look at the raw resources in their hands so that they can start living their dream.”
At Protege Professionals we have a mandate to transform the lives of one million people one dream at a time. We believe that the issues that were caused in the world today will not be solved by the level of thinking that created it. At Protege Professionals we encourage a new level of thinking.
The 1 day event was supported by ‘Etisalat SME Arena’ and ‘Yuu Zoo Africa.
