Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has issued an emotional apology to fans after a dismal 2024/24 season, while assuring supporters that better days lie ahead for the fallen giants of English football.
Man United endured one of the worst campaigns in the club’s history, finishing 15th in the Premier League, their lowest position since relegation in 1974.

A Europa League final defeat to Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday compounded their misery, meaning the Red Devils will miss out on European football next season for only the second time in 35 years.
Speaking after a 2-0 win over Aston Villa in United’s final match of the season, Amorim, who took over in November, accepted responsibility and addressed fans directly.
“I want to apologise for this season. I know you are really disappointed with me and with the team,” said the Portuguese tactician.
“But now we have to make a choice. We either stay stuck in the past, because this season is in the past, or we stick together and move forward.”
Amorim recalled his early warning to fans when he joined the club.
“Six months ago, after my first three games in charge, two wins and a draw, I said to you, ‘The storm is coming’. Today, after this disastrous season, I want to tell you: The good days are coming.”
“If there’s one club in the world that can overcome any season, any disaster, it is our club; it is Manchester United.”
