Nottingham Forest have confirmed that manager Nuno Espirito Santo has signed a new three-year contract at the City Ground, following an impressive season that saw Forest secure European qualification for the first time in nearly three decades.
Nuno, who replaced Steve Cooper in December 2023, guided Forest to a seventh-place finish in the Premier League last season, despite a four-point deduction for breaching profit and sustainability rules.
The club’s final standing earned them a spot in the Europa Conference League play-off round and marked their return to continental football for the first time since the 1995/96 season.
“I am delighted to be able to continue our journey at this fantastic football club,” said the Portuguese coach.
“Since arriving at Forest, we’ve worked hard to build a strong connection between the players, the fans, and everyone at the club. That unity helped us achieve great things last season.”
Nuno’s impact was immediate, rescuing the club from relegation in 2023–24, where they survived on the final day. But it was the following campaign that cemented his status at Forest, as the team challenged for a Champions League spot for much of the season and reached the FA Cup semi-finals for the first time since 1991, before falling to eventual winners Manchester City.
Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis praised the 50-year-old’s contribution and vision for the club:
“Nuno has made a great impact and performed very well during his time with us so far. He has shown a remarkable ability to get the best out of players and integrate young talent into the first team. We share the same ambition—to write a new chapter for Nottingham Forest, competing for trophies in the Premier League and Europe.”
