Nigeria’s burgeoning presence in the sport of fencing continues to expand internationally, highlighted by the impressive performance of 10-year-old Gbemisola Leah-Pedro at the recent prestigious Ontario Circuit Fencing competition in Canada.
Representing Nigeria on the global stage, the young fencing talent showcased her abilities, competing against 28 other young athletes in the U-11 and U-13 categories. Despite this being her first international appearance, Leah-Pedro achieved a remarkable 6th-place finish, marking a significant milestone in her promising fencing journey.
