MTN Nigeria has successfully hosted the Prestige Golf Classic as part of its ‘Make A Difference’ campaign, seamlessly blending elite sport with meaningful connections.

The multi-city event, held in Port Harcourt and Lagos, brought together some of the nation’s most distinguished business leaders, golf enthusiasts, and prominent figures for two days of competitive play and impactful networking.

The Classic teed off with a vibrant cocktail night, setting a relaxed tone for participants to connect and socialise. The following day, golfers took to the lush greens of the Port Harcourt Golf Course, showcasing skill and camaraderie before rounding off with an elegant all-white dinner that fostered new relationships among MTN executives, guests, and players.

Reflecting on the success, MTN Nigeria CEO Karl Toriola said, “The day was filled with great golf, unforgettable moments, and meaningful connections that went beyond the course.

“To our golfers, esteemed customers, and guests, your presence and spirit truly elevated this event. We believe great conversations and partnerships were built today, and we’re excited about the possibilities they hold.”

A key highlight was the grand prize, with winner Solomon Nwaigwe earning an all-expense-paid trip to a major golf tournament in New York, USA.

Participants praised the brand’s effort in promoting the sport. Nalor Mato expressed gratitude, noting MTN’s support for golfers and its strong network presence, while Michael Ojaja highlighted the company’s broader contribution to sports and humanity.

The Prestige Golf Classic, which also featured a highly anticipated leg at Ikoyi Club in Lagos, stands as a testament to MTN’s dedication to growing golf nationwide while strengthening business and social ties through sport.
