Premier League giants Liverpool have agreed to an initial £69 million fee to sign Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike.
The 23-year-old Frenchman is expected to arrive in the UK on Tuesday to undergo a medical, with a six-year contract on the table. He will link up with the Reds on their pre-season tour of Asia later this week.
The total deal is worth £79 million, including £10 million in performance-related add-ons. Frankfurt accepted the offer after rejecting a £70 million bid from Newcastle earlier this month.

Ekitike enjoyed a standout campaign in the Bundesliga last season, netting 15 goals in 31 starts and registering eight assists as Frankfurt secured a third-place finish.
Only five players scored more goals in the German top flight, and Ekitike led the league with 117 shots on goal.
His arrival takes Liverpool’s summer spending past the £250 million mark. The Reds have already landed midfielder Florian Wirtz for a potential British record £116 million, while full-backs Milos Kerkez and Jeremie Frimpong joined for a combined £70 million.
Liverpool’s move for Ekitike signals their intent to bolster their attacking options, having also shown interest in Newcastle’s Alexander Isak.
