Kelechi Iheanacho marked his Celtic debut in style, scoring a dramatic added-time penalty to seal a 2-1 win over Kilmarnock in the Scottish Premiership.
The Nigerian forward, signed as a free agent this month, kept his composure from the spot after VAR penalised Lewis Mayo for handball. His strike secured all three points for Brendan Rodgers’ side and lifted Celtic top of the table on goal difference.
Daizen Maeda had earlier put the visitors ahead with a header from Marcelo Saracchi’s cross, before David Watson levelled with a powerful late effort that looked set to earn Killie a point.
But Iheanacho, replacing Maeda, made the difference with a dream debut goal in stoppage time.
Celtic now turn their attention to the Premier Sports Cup defence against Partick Thistle next Sunday, while Kilmarnock face St Mirren in their quarter-final clash on Friday.
