Jurgen Klopp not interested in Real Madrid role- Agent

Jurgen Klopp is “very happy” in his current position at Red Bull, despite fresh rumours linking him with a return to management at Real Madrid, according to his agent.

The former Liverpool manager took on the role of Global Head of Soccer at Red Bull in January 2025, overseeing a network of clubs including RB Leipzig, New York Red Bulls, and Red Bull Bragantino in Brazil.

Following Real Madrid’s UEFA Champions League quarter-final exit to Arsenal on Tuesday, speculation has grown around the future of manager Carlo Ancelotti, with several names being floated as potential successors, including Klopp.

However, Klopp’s agent, Marc Kosicke, dismissed the speculation in an interview with Sky Deutschland on Friday.

“Jürgen is very happy with his new role with Red Bull,” Kosicke said, reaffirming that the 57-year-old is content away from the pressures of top-level management.

RB Leipzig head coach Zsolt Lőw also weighed in on the rumours, stating he “could not imagine” Klopp taking the reins at the Bernabéu, noting that the German is enjoying his new chapter.

“He’s shown that he can bring a club together and take them with him,” Lőw said. “He adds incredible value with his experience, his human quality, and his energy.”

Klopp’s career as a top-flight manager spanned 23 years with Mainz, Borussia Dortmund, and Liverpool, where he achieved immense success, including a UEFA Champions League title and the club’s long-awaited Premier League crown. Remarkably, he left all three clubs on his terms, a rarity in modern football management.

“No matter where he’s been, he’s given 100 percent,” Lőw added. “It’s important to him to make a clean exit, and that’s exactly what he’s done.”
