Inter Milan submit fresh €45m offer for Ademola Lookman

Inter Milan have submitted a fresh bid for Ademola Lookman, offering €42 million plus €3 million to sign the Atalanta forward, according to reports from Sky Sport Italia and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

The new proposal, presented on Tuesday, is Inter’s second formal offer for the 2024 African Player of the Year, after their initial €40 million bid was rejected earlier this month.

However, Atalanta remain firm on their €50 million valuation, including bonuses, and no agreement has been reached yet.

“Atalanta insist on a higher fee,” Romano stated, underlining the current deadlock as the July 30 transfer window deadline looms.

Lookman, who turns 28 in October, is seen as Inter’s top attacking target due to his explosive pace, technical ability, and big-game pedigree. The Nigerian international is coming off a sensational season in Bergamo, scoring 20 goals and providing seven assists in 40 appearances across all competitions.

His crowning moment came in the 2024 UEFA Europa League final, where he netted a stunning hat-trick to fire Atalanta to their first-ever European trophy.

Signed from RB Leipzig in 2022 for €10.85 million plus €1.5 million in bonuses, Lookman has since become a key figure at Atalanta, tallying 52 goals and 25 assists in 118 appearances. The German club are entitled to a percentage of any future sale as part of a sell-on clause.

Lookman’s current contract runs until June 2027, giving Atalanta leverage in ongoing negotiations. Talks are expected to continue this week, with Inter hoping their latest €45 million package will be enough to get the deal over the line.
