Inter Milan prepare improved offer to sign Ademola Lookman

Inter Milan heve reportedly set to table an improved offer to sign Atalanta and Nigeria forward Ademola Lookman, as negotiations between the two Serie A clubs intensify.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Nerazzurri are pushing to secure the services of the reigning African Footballer of the Year, and are expected to submit a fresh bid in the coming days.

Atalanta have set a €50 million price tag, but Inter are hoping to reach an agreement closer to €45 million, including add-ons.

Inter have already reached personal terms with the 27-year-old, making the final hurdle a consensus on the structure of the transfer fee.

Their current proposal includes a loan deal with an obligation to buy, but Atalanta prefer a straight permanent sale.

Negotiations are set to continue today, with optimism on both sides that a deal can be reached.

While Napoli have previously shown interest in Lookman, sources close to the situation indicate their last contact was in June.

The player has since rejected Napoli’s approach, favouring a move to Inter.

Lookman’s exceptional form last season, capped by a hat-trick in the Europa League final, has made him one of the hottest targets in Europe this summer.

Inter, who are looking to strengthen their attack ahead of the new campaign, see the Nigerian as a perfect fit for Simone Inzaghi’s system.
