I won’t leave Ferrari without a Championship - Lewis Hamilton wows

Seven-time Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton has vowed not to follow the same path as former Ferrari greats Fernando Alonso and Sebastian Vettel, both of whom left the Scuderia without winning a title.

The Briton is determined to break Ferrari’s 16-year title drought and has taken matters into his own hands, preparing detailed reports and personally presenting them to the team’s senior leadership.

Speaking ahead of this weekend’s Belgian Grand Prix, Hamilton revealed he recently held meetings with Ferrari chairman John Elkann, CEO Benedetto Vigna, and team principal Fred Vasseur, outlining strategies to help turn the team into championship contenders.

“If you look at the team over the last 20 years, they have had amasing drivers like Kimi [Raikkonen], Fernando and Sebastian, all world champions, but they didn’t win a championship here. I refuse for that to be the case with me,” Hamilton said.

“I’m going the extra mile. I’ve been fortunate to gain experience from two great teams, and I know that if you take the same path, you get the same results. So I’m challenging every area of the team, especially those at the top, making decisions.”

Hamilton, who joined Ferrari this year from Mercedes, remains without a win or podium finish at the halfway point of the 24-race season. Despite the slow start, he remains convinced of Ferrari’s potential.
