The winner of the expanded Club World Cup in the United States will receive up to $125 million in prize money, FIFA announced on Wednesday.
A total prize fund of $1 billion for the FIFA Club World Cup, scheduled from June 14 to July 13, had already been disclosed, but FIFA has now detailed the distribution among the 32 participating teams.
Each team will share in a $525 million participation pot, while an additional $475 million will be allocated based on performance. With bonuses, the eventual champion could earn up to $125 million after seven matches.
European clubs will receive between $12.81 million and $38.19 million each, depending on sporting and commercial factors. South American teams will get $15.21 million, while clubs from North and Central America, the Caribbean, Asia, and Africa will receive $9.55 million. Oceania’s representative, Auckland City, will take home $3.58 million.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino hailed the distribution model as the largest prize pool ever for a club competition with a group stage and knockout phase. He also announced an additional $250 million solidarity program aimed at reinvesting in global football development.
